Book Excerpts #1

"Aniya, you take a look at this watch for me. What's it doing?"

"Why, it's ticking, Uncle Ralph," Aniya said, looking at him mischievously.

"Exactly! But how is it ticking? Is it just randomly ticking whenever it feels like it?"

"No, it's ticking in a nice, even beat, on every second, just like it's supposed to."

"Do you know what that reminds me of?" Uncle Ralph asked her.

Aniya shook her head.

"This watch of mine reminds me that God is always there for us. No matter what is going on around us, God is that constant ticking of the watch. He's always there for us, no matter what happens. We can always trust him to have the time right, for whatever we need/want. God is always there for us. Sometimes it seems like he's not, especially when there's so much going on around us everywhere, but when we slow down and pay attention to the little things, we realize that He's still there, and He's just as constant as He was last time we checked. He's always there for us. And don't you ever forget that."

Hello again!

Hello again after my nice, long break of no blogging... I finally got my computer back earlier this week, so I figured it was about time to post again! :-) I've been busy sorting through files every day, deleting thousands... Only about a dozen of my documents work, a few dozen pictures, and at least a few hundred videos (I haven't counted- but I've deleted more of everything than I kept). But I have come up with something interesting to do on my blog, now that I have my computer back and can work on some things on it! Since so many of my followers and viewers have been asking about my book that I wrote during NaNoWriMo last November, I have decided to post a short scene from my book every week, until either 1. I run out of scenes, without giving you the whole book, or 2. The book is ready to read. I actually have not read my book all the way through since I wrote it, but... I'm working on editing it now, as well as Hannah Jean, so hopefully it'll be a little closer to being done before too long! I also have to write more scenes. But for now, you'll get little teasers from my book- enjoy! :-)

P.S.- please comment and let me know what you think about my book excerpts! :-)

Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

but the fire is so delightful (at least, the imaginary one in my mind is),
and since we've no place to go,
Let it snow! Let is snow! Let it snow!

It's been snowing all morning- and although we don't have a fire going, it's still a great day to be able to just sit around inside, trying to get over a cold, just watching the beautiful snow as it gently drops to the ground... Thought I'd share a few pictures that I took from inside the warmth of our house (I'm not allowed to go outside 'till I get over this cold ;-))

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I can hardly believe it's already 2011... I thought I should start out the new year a little better, in the blogging sphere. ;-) I do have a good reason for not having posted in a while, though...

Last Monday, my computer decided to delete all of my files, for some unknown reason- all my videos, all my pictures, and all my documents- thousands of files! Well, I ran a program I found on the Internet to try to recover the files. It recovered a lot of them, although quite a few are still missing. There's a slight problem, though- most of the files don't work! At least half of my pictures are "invalid images", and I've only found 3 or 4 documents out of at least a hundred that actually work! And then on New Year's Eve, it decided that it wouldn't recognize our family's WiFi, even when my computer was less than 2 feet from the router! So, my computer is now beyond whatever my dad or I can figure out... :-/ Oh well- I'm sure God had a reason for doing it. ;-) So, posts will be a little less often, as I'm on our family computer now, and it has a rather slow Internet connection. Also, I don't have any of my pictures on this computer yet. ;-)

I'll leave you with this thought, from the sermon at our church this morning...

"Give God the firstfruits, not the leftovers. Look at what God can do with leftovers- just imagine what He can do with the firstfruits!"
